johnbet
Have just received a standalone Class 37 Decoder. The sounds are generally pretty good, but the engine start up sound is a bit strange, an intermiitent fan llike sound? Or is it just me?Got a Class 47 too and that seems OK

johnbet
The start up sound is different - i have no idea how to record a youtube video but will investigate.
96RAF
Just run through all the functions to male sure there are none selected as it could be a second channel sound already running as you start the motor. The two channels are independant. What happens if you select F9 cold start first then F1 motor start. If all else fails and your controller allows it reset the sounds side of the decoder by writing value 5 to CV8.Rob
WilliamDavid
As reported elsewhere on this forum, I have a Class 47 decoder which distorted into a mushy sound. There seems to be some quality issues with tts decoders.I reckon the sounds should be similar for both of your decoders.
johnbet
I have discovered what the issue was with the class 37 TTS decoder. I was initially testing on my ESU Lokprogrammer and Cab control. Once i ran with railmaster and e-link the start up sound was ok. Also received the DB Schenker Class 08 with TTS sound - this too doesn't like the ESU lokprogrammer which caused a jerk motion on the loco when starting sound on F1, but it is generally ok on railmaster and e-link. Possibly something to do with railcom???I agree that the sounds on the Class 47 decoder aren't the best/clearest, certainly in comparison with the Class 37. 96RAF
TTS doesn't support Railcom and I read on one of the forums to disable Railcom on I think it was an ECoS controller as it interfered with the TTS. My 47 is as crisp as my 37.Rob
