I had this happen, and only fixed it by deleting the app and reinstalling it. I had to reload all my locos with the images reduced to about 50k.

How do you get two iPhones to both link to one TXS decoder?

I have just bought another dongle to use with one of my Samsung tablets. Problems with two on version 14, but great with one on version 12. Until I loaded up a large quantity of locos with pictures that is. It crashed and now only displays a white screen on the app. Is this a known problem, and can I correct it?

Where would that be? I am struggling a bit with the new format, and am still getting used to it.

This has features not seemingly mentioned in any literature. You can modify the order of the locos in the top panel to your hearts content. You can deactivate all the locos you are not running to simplify those being shown on the top panel, making moving from one loco to another much easier. I wonder what other hidden features there are to be discovered. This is one very well thought out item.

Thanks for your suggestion 96RAF. It works a treat. Just entered another ten locos. Quite quick when you get a rhythm going. Tempted to get another dongle to use with my Android tablet, just for fun.

By function, I mean the correct map.

How do you download the sound functions to each loco? I have set up three locos, and have downloaded the sound functions on one. All good. However I can’t do it for any more.

On my tablet I only run Windows Defender. I disabled it and managed to download the app. However when I re-enabled it it ‘attacked’ the download and disabled it. Didn’t use to behave this way. Used to to allow me to override it. All is ok now.

Thanks for your replies chaps. i was trying t download the latest version on my new laptop. this has Mcafee and Defender. I tried switching them off with no success. My Linx tablet only has Defender, which I turn off completely. Success. Is 1.74 rev 5 the latest?

I have been trying to redownload the rm app to ensure I am up to date. I have had no luck whatever I do. I have searched this forum and have found nothing to sort it out. It must be downloadable, and I have done it many times before. Any advice?

I have a sound fitted V2 and one with the HM7000 decoder with the A1 file. The stock one sound far better than the HM7000, but both are good enough for me.

I presume one has to re-download the profile to get the latest profile, but where does Hornby advise of the update and how you apply it? I only checked because of this post.

All I can say is that I am bored with it now, but in a good way. Everything works as it should and no problems to solve. I now have to play trains, and have never been good at that. Just needs more sound profiles to be perfect.

I have one Bachmann V2 with pre fitted sound and one with the HM7000 decoder(A1 profile). They sound nothing like each other on the chuffing. I actually prefer the HM7000 chuffing, as the beats of the fitted decoder sound rather clickity clackity to my ears.

Isn’t the decoder supplied ready for use on dcc? It should work on your select regardless of what the app is doing.

I had this happen with a Schools Class locomotive yesterday. Tried all the tricks to no avail. Found the loco/tender connector was loose. Didn’t think the decoder worked without a motor connection.

If the issue is about some cv settings, resetting cv8 to 8 should fix it.

It seems as said above. Unless there is a fault somewhere it seems that the Princess LED is wired across the power pickups and the A1 LED is wired across the decoder motor feed. Only Hornby know why they changed it. I can understand why the decoder doesn’t allow control of the LED is because, unlike my Bachmann V2, the decoder is in the tender. This means an extra wire would be needed between tender and loco.

I have just received the Knight of the Thistle, and the firebox glow works differently to the Princess Royal. Is off when stationary and comes on when the loco moves. Still none switchable.

I agree. I am a tinkerer, and can do so without fear of destroying £60 of kit. I love these things.

I went through the whole procedure with this loco. It seemed to run rather slow and undoing. I see CV144 to 1 and it ran more smoothly but still slow. Reset CV8 and it ran just fine. I’ll leave things as supplied.

Had a go with auto calibration. Sort of no difference with five locos, but weird results with my Hornby Lord Rodney. Very erratic. I reset them all back to factory settings. All good enough as they came.
