1/48 figures

Recommended Posts

I guess you mean RAF Personnel. The 1/76 set was made in the same scale as all the figures in that range and the RAF vehicles (which were also 1/76). Its not too far from 1/72 so no-one took any notice, most of these were made before 1970. The 1/32 figures were made to go with the range of vehicles that Airfix did at the time. There wasn't a significant range of 1/48 so nothing was done until the Operation Herrick vehicles came along.

Have you noticed something - the figure sets were made to match vehicles, not aircraft. Maybe therein lies the answer.

This was a 'special' at TK Maxx. It says ground crew but there are two aircrew figures:

In stock at Hannant's but for rather more than the four quid I paid: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AX04702

ICM do a similar set in 1/48: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ICM48081

@m2 Browning - The illustrated set of RAF personnel were specifically designed for doing a re-arm + refuel of the 1/48 Hurricane, and for a diorama of a Battle of Britain "scramble" of same. The A15072

Airfix 1:48 Scale Battle of Britain Ready for Battle Model Kit

set includes the Hurricane, figure set, an Albion refuelling truck and a Bedford "pneumonia wagon" if you can find it.
