Slowhand
Hi all - new to the forum and seeking advicewhats the best tts unit for Henry the Green Engine?thanks
Chrissaf
According to WIKI, Green Henry is a 4-6-0 loco and although fictional, more closely resembles a Class 5MT Black Five..Now Hornby produce a RTR Class 5MT with TTS fitted, but the 5MT TTS decoder is not listed yet as a stand alone decoder purchase. It is logical to assume that Hornby might release a Class 5MT TTS decoder in the future if you want to be patient and wait..If patience is not your strong suit, then you might consider the Hornby R8116 Class S15 TTS decoder which is also a 4-6-0 loco decoder. Who knows, maybe this is the decoder that Hornby are using for the 5MT TTS loco......possible!.The above is just my suggested opinion (based upon Google) as I am not a follower of the Thomas Range. ellocoloco
Of the TTS decoders currently selling on the Hornby website, Chrissaf's S15 TTS suggestion would be the closest choice. It represents a similar size 4-6-0 to Henry and is a two cylinder locomotives rather than the GWR Castle and King TTS decoders which represent four cylinder locomotives, though also 4-6-0 types, and would sound more noticable different.
