First scratchbuild

I was thinking about getting the airfix 1/32 17 Pdr AT gun and i was looking around for a sutable building and i cant find a reasonably priced one that is in this country (the UK).  so i was thinking about scratch building a building that the 17 Pdr cound be positioned in.  so i would be thankful for any advice from the old hands.

 There are many ways. You might use cardboard or plasticard sheet. If you want to copy a real building you might make a scale drawing first. If using a photograph, a person or doorway will give you a sense of scale.

Here's a very basic scratchbuild representing a Cromwell ARV of the 2nd Northants Yeomanry, C Squadron, recovers a PzKpfw IV Ausf H of the 8th Company, 12th SS-Panzer Division, France, 7 July 1944.

got the 17 Pdr now so when it arives the the build comence!

The Airfix "Command Post" set used to exist in 1/32 scale as well as 1/7(6?). 1/32 scale embossed plastic sheet is definitely a thing, so you could use the smaller scale set as reference for a scratch build of a structure that's almost designed for covering an anti-tank gun.
