pidder
Yellow wire has come adrift from my X9659 4 pin decoder. Could someone kindly point me to a picture showing where I should reconect it. Thanks.
Chrissaf
I think you will find that it is Orange and not Yellow../media/tinymce_upload/325cd06fe99ad0ff85bb8c95574ee405.jpg.
pidder
chrissaf Many thanks for your very quick reply, now for some extremely fine soldering, hopefully. As you say, orange...anyway, not red, grey or black...
96RAF
The basic four wires to a decoder can be simply remembered as:Red and Black to the track,Orange and Grey the other way , i.e. to the motor. The other 4 or 5 wires on an eight pin plug version are for lighting/functions i.e. Blue is common positive, Yellow and White are directional lighting F0 switched negatives, Green is F1 switched negative and where seen Purple is F2 switched negative. Hence the reason why your ‘yellow’ wire was question on a four wire decoder.Rob
pidder
Hi Rob Thanks, the colour of the wire in question was, in fact, a rather dirty yellow/orange... I just stated the colour I thought it was to identify it. Glad to say I've got it working, the decoder,...can't say the same about the engine it's in, a Sentinal. is a strip down to clean pick-ups etc called for?
