shaun_bennett
The Bury St Edmunds Scalextric Club has been running in one form or another for over 15 yrs.We are based at the Gt Welnetham community center just outside of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and currently race once a month, usually on a Saturday evening, on a six lane Scalextric Sport track of around 150 ft lane length, with a main straight around 25 ft in length and a bridge.Races are computer controlled through Race Coordinator and DS system and everything is supplied if needed - DS and Parma hand controllers and Club cars of various classes. We currently have nights racing Club cars (SCX Lorries, Scalextric Karts, Classic Minis, Racer GTs, etc) and members own cars in various categories (Scalextric, Nascar, Open, etc)Nothing is too serious, more a group of friends having fun racing slot cars. New members always welcome, but minimum age of 16.

What age is the child & would you be racing as well (presumably yes).Must just add that with the covid restrictions we have not raced since before the first lockdown and things do not look too good for the foreseeable future - but we will return! Thanks for the interestShaun

MaxHero
Hi Shaun, Are you still on here and still racing? I ask as although I'm not a racer myself, I'm looking to make a short film in Cambridge that centres around Scalextric racers, and would like to reach out to racers who are as local as possible to see if they would like to be involved. If that appeals to you in any way, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Max
