Shadow.Monk
Hello! I would like to make my own stock box however I am unsure as to what type of foam/material is used to protect the models. If anyone could give me some info that would be helpful :)Also what is the best tool for cutting and is super glue good for gluing the foam to the bottom and sides of the tub o purchased? Many thanks!
walkingthedog
I cut thick foam with an old sharp carving knive. If it is thin I use scissors. Some foam can deteriorate and stick to plastic.
Shadow.Monk
Hi WTD.The type of box I have is an 8 litre tubaware box. Sticking to the plastic is fine as this is a permanent box, however I obviously don't want this to stick to the models. Any more advice is much appreciated :)
walkingthedog
When I mentioned sticking to plastic I was referring to the model.
2e0dtoeric
If you meant Tupperware, I would be surprised if you can find ANYTHING to stick to it. It's a form of semi-flexible polypropylene. Epoxy will just flake off. UHU POR - MIGHT grip it, as might silicon adhesive, but I wouldn't guarantee it. (note I put grip, not stick!)
Shadow.Monk
Vent holes, got it!Perhaps just locos and stock wrapped in bubble wrap would be better in a tub box then? Or do you suggest another style of box to insert the foam? Cheers!
2e0dtoeric
Wrap in acid-free tissue paper first, or the bubble-wrap might bond to the plastic, over time.Acid-free tissue - go to your local ARTS and CRAFTS shop (No names, but you probably know where I mean!) Mallard203
Games workshop sell cases with inserts that can be adjusted to suit. You can store tanks etc in them as well as the figures, but they ain't cheap.
