Somerset Modeller
Thinking of adding some LED lights to my coaches and was wondering the easiest way you might control them from DCC and railmaster. I guess the easiest way would to add train but with a picture of a coach and use a DCC decoder to turn lights on or off. For simplicity give all coaches on one train the same DCC address. Would be nice if there was a DCC decoder for just controlling a Auxilary item. Don't need a decoder to control train speed or anything like that. Is there anything on the market? Or has someone got a better way/idea of controlling coach lights with DCC?

96RAF
There are such things as function only decoders but theyntend to cost more than a basic motor decoder. You can buy led on the roll and trim them to length for coaches. The hardest bit once you have got the body off is installing power pickups. Several folk market them such as ESU coach lighting pickups 50700 and DCC Concepts, etc Or you can make your own.Rob
