walkingthedog
Would be very helpful if you stated exactly what loco it is in addition to the R number to save us having to find out. 😆
96RAF
You need the maintenance sheet that came with the loco. You may be able to find one in the downloads area if it is listed - not all are. generally spring the lugs either fron or back or sides, depending upon the actual model. There is also a guide to fitting DCC to these little 0-4-0 monsters in the DCC+ Installations Section of the main site.Rob
Chrissaf
This would appear to be the R3678 Model../media/tinymce_upload/3413daefac759b1f62bd7c112bc25327.jpg.If it is indeed your model, then this DCC conversion guide (as recommnended by Rob above) looks to be suitable.https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/hornby-dcc/decoder-installation-guides/standard-0-4-0-decoder-installation-guide/ .PS - Body removal is documented in Step 1 of the DCC conversion guide. Rog RJ
Some versions of the 0-4-0 chassis models have a fixing screw that needs to be removed, some are just a clip fit. You have to check which version you have by looking at the instruction sheet that should be included with the model.

olly
Here's a link to the maintenance sheet https://www.hornby.com/us-en/downloads/view/download/item/165As it shows on the sheet you carefully use a flat blade screwdriver to release the front of the body by inserting the screwdriver in between the body and the cylinders to unclip them .
