Tomek22
The year 2019 will bring us the 50th. anniversary of first landing on the moon. Therefore I have painted this Airfix Astronauts. Maybe I will paint the rest of the set, too.How about a new set Astronauts in modern suits and in hard plastic (mulitpose)?/media/tinymce_upload/21658c452ebca1862efafed13547f2fa.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/687de4275e1c53775b7a3b618f31bf5a.JPG
Ratch
This old set are being re-issued (they're 1/76 by the way) I have two sets to paint up.
Sailorman
Does anyone know if they are going to be in soft or hard plastic? I have the original set but never got around to painting them. Also mine have rectangular bases. Was a different set issued?
peebeep
Patrick, if they're one piece figures then it's a dead cert they're in soft plastic/vinyl, otherwise they wouldn't release from the mould.
Ratch
I think Tomek has mounted his figures on coins. Both my sets have rectangular bases.
peebeep
Multiple post LOL! The servers have been going dotty today. 😉 I think you can just discern the outline of the rectangular bases on some of Tomek's astronauts.
Sailorman
They certainly look more effective on a round "lunar" base rather than on the rectangular block!
Tomek22
Thank you. 😆
dabhand
I can remember when buying these way back when, how disappointed I was that they were moulded in yellow! Are the re-issues still moulded in that pale, sickly, yellow!
Paul Astle
I preordered the set, now they are out there and i'm still waiting for the set to arrive.
Paul Astle
to add in what I types last week-the astronaughts are no lnoger available for order BUT my 'pre-order' is still listed on my account. this is very discouraging. If Airfix wants people to buy from them direct and not just on e-bay they need to pay attentino to their clients. there's no point in buying here if they can't get their act together. I mean if someone goes out of their way to say 'yes I''d like that and I'm willing to wait just to be in the que' and they forget the cue, then what's the point? Tomek22
@dabhandthere was a re-issue in white, too.I have both versions (white and yellow) do not know what color the current ones are.I think it would be fine if there were a version of newer, or future astronauts to face the adventures in space and these in 1:72!
