Gbh4
Hi I‘ve got lots of surplus trains that I want to sell but first I want to test them all to make sure they work ok. They are all analog dc but my setup is digital dcc. Basic question, but to test them is it just a case of disconnecting the wires to my elink and then connecting analog power to the track? 96RAF
As simple as that......disconnect the eLink and reconnect the analogue controller, or just connect a longish length of track to allow fwd/rev running.Rob
Gbh4
Excellent, thought so but wanted to check with you fine folks first. Thanks for the reply.
2e0dtoeric
If the o/p has any point-switching decoders, etc, fitted, would the dc analogue volts upset those? Also, any DCC fitted loco's on the track would have to have had their dc running option disabled in the cv's, or they would all take off at the same time, when the volts were turned up! Chrissaf
If the o/p has any point-switching decoders, etc, fitted, would the dc analogue volts upset those?.Good point Eric, and so often overlooked.I would have thought a 3ft length of flexi-track is all you need just for testing and then the whole issue of DCC damage just goes away. Or consider a 'rolling road', then that investment could be re-couped due to it being usable for DCC loco testing too.
Flashbang
A piece of long'ish track and a new PP3 battery will do! Or just touch the PP3 across the locos pick up wheels and the motor should turn.
