Sultan
I have seen plenty of opening the box and 'look what I bought today box opening' videos on YouTube of the new Hornby class 08 TTS but as yet no one has shown me what I really want to see .... the guts inside! How have they fitted the decoder and speaker? If anyone has any pictures please can they post them here. I am sure I am not the only curious person. 😎
walkingthedog
Hornby service sheet HSS 363 will give you a clue.
2e0dtoeric
They used a very clever shoe-horn! 😛
walkingthedog
The speaker is behind the radiator.
Sultan
@walking the dogIf I am not mistaken that looks like a 21 pin decoder?
walkingthedog
Couldn’t tell you I’m afraid, not a DCC person. As Joe Walsh sings I'm an analogue man. The service sheet might not be for the TTS version but there is hardly room to put the decoder and speaker anywhere else.
Chrissaf
I can confirm that the HSS363 is not a TTS Class 08 model../media/tinymce_upload/8733e2bc8ef94ec4e143ad1db1162442.jpg.As you can see in the above screen shot, the quoted model numbers have the XS suffix not T ot TTS. The XS suffix denotes the pre TTS Hornby factory fitted sound locos fitted with a 21 Pin Loksound decoder. I know because I have a Class 08 XS model. Mine has a Loksound V3.5 decoder. Some of the earlier XS models had Loksound V3 and some of the later ones had Loksound V4 (all are 21 Pin)..
96RAF
TTS one is a combo of SS278 and 363. Speaker is in the samemplace but the socket is the 8-pin one.Rob
walkingthedog
Rob that is what I was pointing out. The 08 has very little spare space within so the location of decoder and speaker is limited. 😆 I didn't say it was the TTS service sheet, just said it might help. 😉
