Chrissaf
With the new Harry Potter sets I cant decide if to buy the R1234 trainset or the R3803TTS sound fitted one. Does anyone know what sound module is fitted as I cannot find any details. As i would prefer to buy the R1234 set and fit the Hornby sound after. Chrissaf
In light of WTD's reply below....my post edited to remove incorrect information..To the best of my knowledge Hornby have not yet released a Hall Class TTS decoder. If their intention is to commission a new TTS Hall Class decoder for the release of the R3803TTS due later this year, then it is logical to assume that a stand alone Hall Class TTS may be released at some future date. walkingthedog
Not so Chris. R1234 and R3803 are both a Hall Class.
walkingthedog
Hornby do produce a TTS Hall class, it is in set R1184, so I guess that is what will be in Hogwarts Castle.
Kris537
Cheers all, I do wonder if they are using the sound of the King's or Castle. As i find it strange they offer it fitted to Locos but no seperate sound module for those who want to upgrade at later date.
96RAF
All factory fitted TTS start to appear as retro kits eventually. You either wait or see if any have been stripped out of RTR locos. Often shops split sets and flog the items separately for more money.
Tomchatz
Is there any noticeable difference between the different TTS decodes in hall castle and king except there name?
walkingthedog
Well one would hope so. The Hall is two cylinder whereas the King and Castle are four.
96RAF
All TTS decoders are recorded from live locos if still running or use library recordings if the loco is defunct.
