VI trains class 37 fitted with TTS sound decoder

Hi

I have recently fitted a TTS class 37 decoder to a VI trains class 37 with a digitrax SP26158B box speaker. The problem is that when applying power using the Elite controller the locomotive judders in both directions before sttting off when more power is applied. I would appreciate any advice on correcting this problem

Hi Jim,

i fitted a class 47 TTS decoder to a viTrains model, and experienced the same problems.  I think that I found a resolution to this in amending CVs, but unfortunately I can’t trace the ref. at present.  I will have a look and report back

 The usual solution is to change CV150 to a value of 1 (default is 0). This uses an alternative algorithm for better low speed control. Further details are described in the TTS instructions............HB

Great, my Bachmann class 37 does exactly the same with the TTS decoder. At least it is consistant.

Thanks, HB, I knew there was a cv change, but have been unable to locate the info..  I am sure the solution you mentioned was the one I used, to ‘reasonable’ result.

Hi 

The issue with the shuddering start with the VI trains class 37 has been fixed by changing CV 150 to 1 as was the fix for the same problem with the Hornby class 50
