Rog RJ
In most cases yes but there may be a few exceptions. Most decoder fitted models will run on dc without removing the decoder.
bill7437
Yes but performance might suffer and in no circumstances should you run a DCC loco on an analogue circuit equipped with a Relco HF Track cleaner it will fry the decoder. Easiest option is to get your local model shop to unclip the decoder and fit a blanking plug or DIY with the appropriate suitable plug from Ebay - they just plug in to the top of the decoder.. Fishmanoz
Most can be converted back - all can be converted back. If a socket is fitted, blanking plug route is simplest. If no socket, just unsolder the pickup wires from the decoder, remove the decoder from the circuit and solder the pickup wires directly to the motor. Job done. And yes, DCC locos will run with no problem on a normal DC track as long as DC Running has not been disabled in CV29. If still running DCC, then enable DC Running before going back to DC, if your controller can adjust CVs.
