Wellwhynot
Just bought a R084 Class 29 diesel which way round does the body fit. I e does the fan vent sit at the ringfield drive end or visa versa
walkingthedog
Wouldn't have thought it matters. Will it fit either way. I just googled it and looked at some photos. In one you can see the edge of the motor through the cab window. The fan is at the same end. Why not try it and have a look for yourself.
jane1707819582
Mine is at the motor end
Ruffnut Thorston
Unless there is something on the underframe that is 'handed', like the fuel tank, then it probably doesn't matter. Hornby have used a 'star' or 'asterix' moulded into parts to signify which way round they should be...the stars are at the same end when assembled correctly. atom3624
Is there a Service Sheet - this would indicate the 'Hornby preferred way'. Al.
walkingthedog
I had a look at the service sheet. Only shows the loco chassis without its top on.
Ruffnut Thorston
That's the problem with most service sheets... No body shewn. You could possibly look at catalogue illustrations?
