Hornby select problem

What firmware revision is your Select?

.

When you power up the Select, the firmware revision is the very first number to briefly appear on the LCD screen followed by 30 followed by 03

.

If it is 11, then you will benefit from having the Select firmware upgraded by Hornby to get full compatibility with TTS decoders. The upgrade charge is £15 plus your postage cost to send it to Hornby. The current firmware is 16 and this will give you the ability to write to all the CVs as well as full support for TTS decoders, but note that full TTS support first appeared in firmware release 15. To initiate an upgrade you need to get a 'returns number' from Hornby Customer Care Services. See the telephone number in the 'Contact Us' link at the very bottom of the forum web-page.

.

You have an overload which is causing the 1-amp power supply to drop voltage which is causing your Select to continually rebbot and show 11 which is the revision state Chris is on about above. You should get your Select updated to v1.6 by Hornby and think about getting a 4-amp power supply as likely you are running more locos than the wall wart supply can handle.

The official Hornby 4 amp power supply upgrade for the Select is the P9300.

Rob has made a good suggestion. The flashing 11 could very well be that the Select is caught in a constant 'rebooting' cycle. This could be a fault in the loco TTS decoder trying to draw too much current, but it could also be a fault with the existing Select 1 amp power supply. There have been reports on this forum before regarding faults with this power supply not being able to output the full 1 amp rated current. If the Select is constantly rebooting, then the flashing 11 is indeed the firmware revision and the Select should still be upgraded as per my original post above.
