Ratch
Having just painted more than one set of Luftwaffe Personnel, I thought I should set about some of my sets of RAF Personnel. I was struck by the similarity of the uniforms and (as I have more than three full sets) decided suitable ones could be transferred to the Luftwaffe. They're almost done and this is where I am with them.Of course, some are only suitable as RAF types.

SD45elect2000
Ratch,Have you ever given thought to converting RAF to FAA ?I’m thinking about getting some FAA figures one way or another.Randalll
Ratch
I haven't considered it because:1 I don't have many FAA aircraft2 I don't have references3 It's not a theme I'm particularly interested in.Off hand, the headwear may be a problem, but if the FAA uniform is basically similar, it should be doable. SD45elect2000
Ratch-anyone,What are appropriate RAF colors for the Western desert? Doing both pilots and crew.Im doing a little figure painting tonight.Randall
paul71
the RAF had developed its own khaki drill clothing for the middle east and India this included shorts, air crew was the same colour and i think it was first used out there by the RFC. looking at pictures this was also used in Africa and Malta. It appears the Luftwaffe colours were similar in this theatre as well.
