Loksound 4 decoder issue

I have a couple of Loksound decoders that have worked without any issues using my Hornby Elite DCC controller.

Whilst attempting to use with a newly built MERG hardware and Raspberry Pi/JMRI controller one of these decoders no longer has no motor control. As soon as I apply the smallest of speed the loco runs at what appears to be maximum speed, regardless of whether I use the MERG/Raspberry Pi/JMRI or the Hornby Elite.

The decoder will accept a new address and all sounds are as they were originally programmed, I only have a speed control issue.

Could you please advise what the problem might be and how I might be able to rectify it?

If CV29 makes no difference.

.

Using the Elite. Write 8 to CV8 to reset the Loksound to factory default. You have no way of knowing what CVs may have been altered by the Merg/PI controller. A factory reset should theoretically restore factory motor control and, of course, DCC Address 03. If 8 to CV8 rectifies the issue, then I would suspect the MERG/PI controller as the cause of it.
