BlightyExPat
I have a couple of Loksound decoders that have worked without any issues using my Hornby Elite DCC controller.Whilst attempting to use with a newly built MERG hardware and Raspberry Pi/JMRI controller one of these decoders no longer has no motor control. As soon as I apply the smallest of speed the loco runs at what appears to be maximum speed, regardless of whether I use the MERG/Raspberry Pi/JMRI or the Hornby Elite. The decoder will accept a new address and all sounds are as they were originally programmed, I only have a speed control issue.Could you please advise what the problem might be and how I might be able to rectify it? Howbi
It may be that DC running is enabled which causes runaway..........read CV29 then deduct 4 and write the result back to CV29........see CV29 calculator here... http://www.2mm.org.uk/articles/cv29%20calculator.htm ..........HB
jane1707819582
Your decoder could beinerpratati gthe signal as DC .disable DC running in cv 29 find the value and take 4 off
Chrissaf
If CV29 makes no difference..Using the Elite. Write 8 to CV8 to reset the Loksound to factory default. You have no way of knowing what CVs may have been altered by the Merg/PI controller. A factory reset should theoretically restore factory motor control and, of course, DCC Address 03. If 8 to CV8 rectifies the issue, then I would suspect the MERG/PI controller as the cause of it.
BlightyExPat
Good news. I struggled to fix via the CV29 route, so did a factory reset CV8 to 8 and all appears to be OK, now..Thanks to all for their help.
