Hi

I am struggling to determine if there is a sound decoder for Class 6/8 shunters, Blue Rapier and 225 models. Is anyone aware of a guide that matches decoder options to class of locomotives?

Any help appreciated

You can look up all the Hornby TTS sound decoders on this website under the Shop banner then for the premium sound decoders look for ESU, Zimo, Howes Sound, Legomanbiffo available from various retailers..........HB

No guide as such ... very much a case of research on a case (loco) by case (loco) basis.

.

But before the research can start ... you have to decide your available budget you want to spend.

.

Hornby TTS decoders about £40

.

The others mentioned above in the £90 to £130 range. The two budget extremes are highlighted below on the clickable links:

.

Hornby TTS

Legomanbiffo (based upon Loksound Hardware) is in my personal view the 'Rolls Royce' sound guy to go to.

Blue Rapier is an electric train and sound file sets for these quieter types of trains are a bit slim compared to the more comprehensive steam and diesel sound file sets.
