96RAF Posted July 10, 2020 Share Posted July 10, 2020 The correct alignment is only important if you have lighting which most steamers do not. If lighting is fitted and the plug is reversed the lights simply do not work, a definite clue that the plug is in the wrong way round. If you look at the inner four connections on a NEM652 socket you will see why this is and if you look at the outer four connections you will understand why the loco runs backwards to normal.
