R4478
Hello, brought my son his first scalextric set and after we set it all up rememberd what it was like from when I had a set some 40 years ago. What I don't remember though is the smoke coming from the controllers. I've tried all different combinations of car and controller and they all result in the controller smoking so does anyone have an idea of what to do next? Many thanks for any help. R4478
Update: I have made a simple oval track with the only two straight pieces and also run a brush between the two metal parts of the track and it still smoked.
Andy P.
Smoking is not good and dangerous. There is likely a fault in the set. You should return it and get a new one or contact Customer Services at the right...
MIleage712
I think on this one I'd go with what Andy P is saying. Typically a controller that continuously smokes should be removed/disconnected from the set. If possible exchange the set for another.
