  1. It would be nice to see the four position physical throttle stop on all the wireless controllers. This would of course have a cost to change the injection molds. At some point it would be even better to have a bit of non-volatile memory in the controller and put in a max power value in each controller. The app could set this once and it would be there when the track is powered up. The app race modes could then override/change these stored defaults in the drivers profile or the car profile. I don't know how much storage is on the controllers not but there is some as there is firmware that can be updated. Also there is some room to store which controller id is set for the various colors on top of the Arc Pro powerbase (essentially controller 1 thru 6). if the app can't be updated to do the settings then the firmware could be revised to allow a button combination to change max power. (eg: hold brake and lane change for 5 seconds. then press one of the other to move the max power to the desire level with the LED on top blinking faster or slower to indicate the setting (or use haptic rumble intensity, or both LED and haptic/rumble), finally press both buttons or pull throttle to set the powerlevel and leave selection mode.
  2. This app is awesome. I've donated a couple times. From my perspective this is worth at least what a top tier video game would cost. Think of it like a Grand Turismo for play station or Forza Motorsport for xBox. Then donate if you want based on what you think it brings to your enjoyment.
  3. There is a way to use 4 lanes all the way around your layout using Arc Pro. This requires two Arc Pro powerbases one of which will be come a donor and then a slave unit for lap counting etc. You are best off to hit a search engine and for Scalextric gray wire modification for 4 lane digital. If you follow the links you will see how to do this.
  4. AnyRail is available on Windows and is currently supported. I have seen updates as recently as today (May 4, 2023). The software supports all the Scalextric pieces for Scalextric Sport track including the digital track pieces. There are a couple other brands of libraries there as well. I have had a coupe occassions to request additional pieces for the Scalextric Sport track pieces (c8205x = Extra long straight, and the c8435 = ARC Pro Powerbase). When I sent in the request in both cases it took less than 14days before a new update was released by DRail Modelspoor Software (the makers of AnyRail). This software is also for train modelers. This means the programmers have a big enough market to keep doing these quick updates. I've been using it for a few years and it's been very stable and I can't recall any crashes or the software every hanging/freezing etc.
  5. Interesting the guy in the previous post name in Philip as is my name. I have a question on current analog sets. Do the controllers that come in the sets have adjustable power levels to lower the top speed available for when beginners are racing?
  6. I noticed a couple things. The Scalextric.com website no longer has the US (United States) option. Initially I thought this meant Scalextric is no longer interested in the US (United States) market. I tried to find it via search engine and kept getting referred to Scalextric.com where there is only UK or EUR selections. Had a couple friends go look and they said the same thing (effectively Scalextric stopped doing anything in the US. Later I did find there is Scalextric in the USA and the site to look at is hornbyhobbies.com . I would suggest something on Scalextric.com that would redirect US based users to hornbyhobbies.com and then to the Scalextric part of that site. Also I've been searching for the 2023 Scalextric Catalog and it seems no seller in the USA has the catalog. Again another item to make it appear there is not Scalextric effort in the USA. Finally, I just donated $500us to a school system to sponsor a slot car club. That school has a few of the Sunset Speedway sets. My contribution will allow for some additional quipment and a platform to get the onto a table and some spares, tires etc. I have a couple students ask me again where is the information to use the USB port on the Arc Pro powerbase? Also there is questions about any example code to use USB port or bluetooth?
  7. Paul, Here in the US, I was on the professormotor, com website and they had some ARC Pro Sets in stock. I also noticed a couple dealers on Amazon with sets also.
  8. It's been 5 years with the ARC Pro. I stuck with Scalextric for a long time hoping to hear at some point the USB port protocol would be released. This is now affecting how I help local school systems work out keeping tracks running properly. With Bluetooth there is much confusion in a multi track room gettin the app connected, Let alone connected to the proper/ of three respective track layouts. Each track with its own ARC Pro power base, for physicalr science, repair or general usage. I've said this before and again will say it would be a big benefit to your customers if the USB port could be used to connect and run races. It would be equally beneficial if the protocol was published so programmers could write software for Windows, Linux or MacOS as well as tablet and mobile devices. Where is the USB port information and protocol?
  9. Ralph, You were on Pendle and there is a guide blade there that works great for Carrerra cars to run on Scalextric sport. Try searching for S-126 Replacement guide blade for Carrera That will get you there.
  10. My first inclination would be to remove the body screws and make sure the rear axle is properly seated. Also look at the motor and how it is snapped in as well. From what I hear those would be my first two places to check. Finally, while you have the body off the car look at the gears and make sure they have just a small amount of lubrication on them. You can get some silicon grease or model lube to take care of this. You won't need a big container of lube as you won't have to lube the cars much.
  11. If the sound is like a very high pitched whine when the throttle is pressed this is quite normal for some cars. The best way to see if it's normal is to depress the throttle every so slightly and listen for the high pitched sound. You should here it when the throttle is so slight that the car has not even been able to move. If this is so then I would not worry too much as I own a few cars that emit this noise. Mostly I only hear it when it quiet in the room and/or there are no other cars running. The other possibility is the cars have set a very long time in storage and maybe a bit of lubrication is in order. This may cause a car to have a high pitched sound from the gears where they mesh together. I'll recommend you try a local hobby shop or order some plastic gear lube. You'll only need a very little lubrication if at all.
  12. @Nige, If you have ARC PRO just get on the Windows store via Windows 10 or Windows 11, or the Google Play store and get the MARIG ARC APP. It is not arcade like but more hobbiest/club style. It's easy to install and use and will be great when displayed from a PC or via multiple monitors on a PC. It's posted as free to use and if you like it you can follow my lead and send any donation you want to MAGIC. Either way it's worth the price of admission! BTW I have several licensed programs to work with the C7042 ( I own three of them with a full set of controllers for each) and yet I prefer the ARC PRO. I think you will be pleased with your kit.
  13. Hopefully you figured out what ARC Air is. Though I'd say if you're going ARC Air then I'd recommend you simply go ARCPro. It will do ARC Air and when you're ready for digital its just a switch in the side of the ARC Pro to take you from analog to digital, or digital to analog. Really the best of both parts of the hobby. Old school analog for running any analog car that is not Scalexric digital. I made just such a move back in 2015 and have been happy with my setup since.
