Spare parts / part numbers for (newest version) Railroad HST

There doesn’t appear to be a service sheet available for the (newest version) Railroad HST (R3608, R1230) - I believe this is an ex Lima tooling.

Is anyone able to provide appropriate part numbers (or suggest an alternative model’s service sheet)?

(i.e. one that uses the same parts & lists them!)

Specifically I am seeking info regarding the motor-bogie (motor, gears etc.) and the pickups for both motor & unpowered bogies.

I have been offered a previously-owned example (that is accurately described as a temperamental runner & priced accordingly).  However I obviously wish to know the availability of spare parts before committing myself!

N.B.  I emailed Hornby customer services requesting this info a few days ago, (but understandably with Covid) - I haven’t received & am not expecting, a quick response from them!

I must admit I have not looked for a Service Sheet but have been trawling the spares sites for bogies etc. to update my old HSTs and have found that there aren't a great deal of spares available. I assume you can get the motors as they probably share those with other models, but the rest seem hard to come by.

As you say, there is not as yet a service sheet covering the ex-Lima HST power car despite it now being 12 years since it was introduced.  I would suggest you contact a parts specialist such as Peters Spares as they should have the knowledge to offer you the correct parts (if available) either for that model or others that utilise the same components.

I have been doing a lot of research into this because I wanted to upgrade my old HST. It appears there is no Service Sheet as is stated on the New Modellers Site. I found out that the motor bogie is the same size as the class 73, distance between wheels being the same (actual measurement taken by me). Peters spares has displays of the individual parts, although most are "out of stock", so you should be able to get the part numbers from these. The bodies on the later locos have different clips to the 1980s Hornby ones and the drivers seat unit is different as my one didn't fit the newer dummy chassis.
