stevecamden
Sounds like you need to adjust the accel/decel values from the Elite with the loco on the programming track - its in the Elite manual and very simple - just play around with a few numbers till you get what you want for your layout. poliss
Should be even simpler with Railmaster.

poliss
In Railmaster check the section 'Defining and Controlling Locomotives. You should find your Class 31 is already listed. The default cruising and shunting speeds have been pre-defined.
96RAF
...is already listed. The default cruising and shunting speeds have been pre-defined...The Q is not the speeds but the accel/decel transitions which can be adjusted by trial and error (set values from 0 to 255) to suit in the Elite menus.Railmaster may also be able to set these values but I am not familiar enough to so advise.Rob
poliss
There were other things in the Railmaster manual about adjusting speed and acceleration/deceleartion that I haven't fully brushed up on. With a good computer program you won't ever need to refer to CVs.Railmaster Manual.https://www.hornby.com/downloads/hornby-railmaster-instruction-manuals/
cruiser
hi guys sorry but i have not been able to try anything yet with the train as its been far too warm in the shed to be comfortable doing anything hitting 38c will post how i get on as soon as i get a chance
Graskie
Try doing it during the Jubilee celebrations. It's bound to be cool and wet then, just likethe Coronation in 1953.
Fishmanoz
Cruiser, when you get out there, this change is a simple one done via the menus, so no cv knowledge needed. Look at your manual and you should see it including what the default values are. And if I remember rightly, this one can be programmed on the layout, no program track needed. poliss
I'd suggest you get some insulation in the shed or you could get warped track from the expansion and contraction of the badeboard.
cruiser
shed sides are all inulated poliss loft insulation and gyprock fitted only roof that's not. no windows probably the main problem but that was for security reasons
