Alan-65539
Can anyone help me undo a double heading. The two locos dcc numbers I know however the double heading number has been lost. I am using a Elite. I have found no way to undo the consist.
Chrissaf
When using an Elite, the 'Consist' data is I believe [95% sure] only held in the Elite unit and not in the loco decoders. Therefore, in theory it should only be necessary in the absence of being able to 'dissolve a consist' using the consist address [which you have lost] to perform an Elite 'factory reset'. A 'reset' should in theory remove all and any 'consist' information data stored in the Elite. An Elite 'factory reset' is documented on page 68 of the 1.4x Elite manual version. Although it shouldn't in theory be necessary, if an Elite 'Reset' doesn't work then you could try factory resetting the loco decoders by writing 8 to CV8 to each decoder. You will then have to reinstate any 'custom' configuration settings including their normal DCC addresses previously configured. But as mentioned in the first paragraph, I am fairly confidently sure that the Elite does not store any 'consist' information within the loco decoders. Brew Man
I think if you place both locos on the programming track and write the value 8 to CV 8, it should reset each loco's decoder to it's default.
Fishmanoz
While not impossible, chances are two locos on the programming track may not re-program given the low power available. In fact, Murphy will tell you that re-programming of two locos will only occur when you didn’t intend to re-program one of them. Far better to try re-programming “each” loco.
