Track Compatibility Q's

Google any of those items and look at the track connectors.

If the connectors are the same they will work.

No slot car manufacturer has made a track connector that looks the same but doesn't (!) work... thank goodness...

By the way, the C8206 is the standard curve in ever single set out there sold since 2004 including your 24 Hour Le Mans set (which also has 90° R2 curves) You can get them for .01 of your favorite currency.

When you say tighter did you mean less degree of curve?

Tighter usually refers to radius.

The various radii are explained here: http://www.janestrains.co.uk/ScalextricTrack.html

Essentially there are 4.

Does that help?

A lot of racers don't like R1 as you have to take them really slow, particularly on the inside.

I think as long as you don't do something silly like having a 3 meter straight that ends in a 90° R1 you can use these tighter curves nicely.

Personally I use 22.5° R2s or R3s followed by 22.5° R1s as hitting the first curve slows the car down a little and the curve is tighter than a pure R2 or R3 curve.

It makes adding borders a pain but it makes for a nice layout in a lot of cases IMHO...

BTW: There are lots of very high quality second-sources out there. Just make sure there is no crusty rust on it. Dark rails can be cleaned with a railroad track eraser...
