Andy P.
There is actually video on this: The other aftermarket, Scalxtric digital-compatible chips would be very similar. :-)
Kevin Hodges
Thanks Andy,I had watched this video before, but I still can't work out what chip he used.?It needs to have that same wiring harness configuration with the LED sensor on a separate wire.I've looked at many different chips on eBay including Slot.It models, But I cant find any with that style harness.CheersKev. Andy P.
It's a bog standard C7005 Scalextric retro chip. Some of the newer ones look a little different but they function all the same. The harness is the same, essentially 2 sets of wires to go between the guide and the motor and a set with an LED on the end for the digital communication. Kevin Hodges
Thanks Andy,I looked at this chip, but I couldn't see the separate LED lead.CheersKev.
Andy P.
Hi Kev,Not sure what you mean. There is always an LED on the end of a pair of wires. If it is still in its original packaging it will have the LED.I won't link to any suppliers as I figure you should use a supplier of your choice. :-)
Kevin Hodges
Hi Andy,I bought a Slot.It chip. The LED is built into the chip so you are very limited and it won't work in the Cooper S.I just wanted to make sure I bought one with the LED on a separate lead. The only chips I have experience with is the EasyFit.Kev. Andy P.
Slot-IT has pretty good documentation online and I think there is a way to put an LED on cable but I am not sure. The standard retro chip though should work.
