Kevin Hodges
Hi all,Are there any 'remedies' for digital cars stalling over lane change points ?They also seem to momentarily suffer a power surge as they cross.Maybe some conductive paint in the right spot ?ThanksKev. Andy P.
If only one car is doing this check its wire connections as it could be a fault there.Parts of the lane change have no power (the black parts) so it is not uncommon for a slight drop to happen. In fact, if you are going too slowly or the magnet is too strong they will indeed stop on the change section.Surges usually happen with the lanes have unequal electrical resistance. Put another way, one lane is getting more power than the other.Remember, on a digital track the rails have power on all the time. The causes to this (which can also help stalling) usually bad connectivity and/or too low of power. If you start racing 4 cars or more with magnets you really need 2 power supplies.Double check and clean the rails and make sure they are connecting properly and solidly.Check the under side and make sure the pegs seated well:https://uk.scalextric.com/support-and-advice/advice/track-maintenanceI have seen little metal tabs on sale that you can sandwich in at the connections to increase connectivity.Inox M3/M5 help a lot as well...Good luck! Kevin Hodges
Thanks Andy,I will take that advice on board.I'm lucky to have a 2nd power supply if needed, (from my Hornby Elite controller) that I've never used ! I'm 100% certain they are the exact same power supply.Kev.
