DarkRedCape
I never liked the look of this loco, not sure what it was, but the more I see of it, the more it’s growing on me. The colour of it is just so nice.Maybe it’s a good thing they’re all OOS everywhere or I’d likely try and pick one up.
VESPA
There are still a few out there at RRP but you would have to search quite a bit.
atom3624
I love the look of it, and just how big it is ...The rebuild's cab looks like you could play tennis in it by comparison!Al.
The son of Triangman
The rebuilds cab is deceptive. The rebuilt loco had a modified P2 boiler which did protrude into the cab.
dh2807
I sent my Hush Hush back to Hornby last Friday with a delivery date of Monday. The loco was very noisy. poor running/stalling and parts broken off. I received back my loco today (Thursday) with delivery note saying motor replaced and tested. Initial look shows all the broken parts back on the loco. I'm not sure it is the same loco body. Loco arrived in a large box with plenty of packing. I will run it tomorrow. Well done to Hornby for such a quick return.
atom3624
Here's hoping you've got a good one now. They're a fantastic-looking model, let down by the very people who sell them - unfortunately!Al.
thirdline
GREAT W1I now have my W1 and it’s fantastic. The Hornby box fitted perfectly into the stout brown outer packaging. On unpacking the loco there were no loose bits rolling around and the loco was totally undamaged, it looks terrific.I first ran the loco on a 2 meter length of DC track and it ran smoothly and quietly. While I’m waiting to obtain a sound decoder I fitted a well used standard Hornby decoder so I could try it on my layout. It ran perfectly, negotiating points and diamond crossings without any drama.I’m well impressed by it and would recommend it to anyone. A first class product worth every penny. atom3624
Fantastic news and glad you enjoy it.Such a pity there are so many failed ones, most of which is due to the sub-contracted couriers rather than the product itself.Al.
EricJ
Hi folks, I have to hand it to Hornby. I had a replacement W1 sent out to me in Ireland within a week of returning the broken one. Very happy with the service. It's now running happily on my layout.yum
