Is HST pack R2613 at least DCC Ready? Or forever only DC?

Good evening,

I have the HST in Swallow livery pack R2613 from 2007 featuring C43s 'Granite City' and 'City of Discovery'. I have never run them (sad I know). My question is: are these locos (accepting that one is a 'dummy') at least DCC-Ready? Or are they only ever DC?

I think it is DCC ready .

Pop the body off and you should see a DCC socket

I think this is an ex Lima tooling .A little clip at the rear releases the body .

I have one of these, It is fitted with a 5 pole ringfield motor, It is not DCC ready but can be hard wired. Will possibily require extra pick ups fitted or a stay aliv capacitor.

You can fit a socket and make it DCC ready there is lots of room. Anything with a ringfield motor doesn't seem to have a DCC socket, perhaps it is because some ringfields draw more stall current than a standard Hornby decoder can source. I will add I rewired mine and it works quite happily with a decoder.
