  1. It is not that difficult, Try here for a start, https://uk.electronic.partners/services/pcb-repair/
  2. The other thing to consider is that different controllers have different idioscyncrasies where one would dislike a Hattons decoder or anther would dislike a Zen or a Hornby chip and so on.....
  3. I am in the same boat exept that is my cancer is now deemed as terminal and has got to the point where I can`t put a loco on the track never mind getting up the stairs. Again well over 125 locos, 100 or so sets of points etc. I did think of perhaps there is someone who could act as an agent rather than a box shifter.
  4. A 4ba wing nut fits the H&M terminals perfectly.....
  5. I have a Hornby R2457 Anzac, It is DCC ready with the 8 pin socket in the tender, The socket sits atop of the front teder weight, It has the peg and prong connection to the loco and has a five pole motor.
  6. The motor has been reassembled in the bogie the wrong way round so the pickups are on the same side as the front bogie pickups.............
  7. It does not run, Put it on the track after fixing the brush and spring etc I get an immediate short circuit, The fault is something more fundamental, If I apply 12v direct to the motor the motor will run...........
  8. Bought off Ebay as a good runner, Apart from the ovbious there is something else not right, Perhaps it`s because it`s Australian.
  9. The x9683 fit perfectly, The only difference is that they have 2 wires whereas the originals had one wire the other pickup being throgh the chassis so in actual fact is an improvement, Thanks all, R.
  10. There is one listed on ebay, Item no: 224743631145 I am interested in this but the seller says it is OO scale, I think it is HO scale, Can anyone confirm which it is, Thanks, R.
  11. I have the above loco that is in need of new pickups, {Loco drive with can motor], The correct part x8850 is as rare as rocking horse manure, Does anyone know of an available substitute? I do not have the dexterity to fabricate replacments, Rob.
  12. I have one of these, It is fitted with a 5 pole ringfield motor, It is not DCC ready but can be hard wired. Will possibily require extra pick ups fitted or a stay aliv capacitor.
  13. If the mods will pass on my email to you I have a good working order one, [Just the unit no software] you can have it gratis, I have gone NCE procab, Regards, R
