Hornby Select

EO means emergency off which kills all track power.

It may be that you have simply pressed the STOP button. Clear it by pressing ESC.

If it wasn’t that then there is likely a short on the track which must be found and removed, then you can press ESC to clear the screen.

To check that it is the track and not the Select, unplug the track feeder wires and restart the Select. If it starts OK make note of the numbers you see XX-30-03. Tells us what XX is. Likely to be 16 or 20 given your EO message.

If the Select starts up OK, remove all locos from the track and plug in the feeder wires again. Is it still OK. If so replace the locos one by one until the fault reoccurs. That loco is your problem and must be investigated, maybe a track pin or other debris causing a short.

If Rob's suggested diagnostic procedure indicates that the short circuit is originating from the track, then read FAQ4 in the "General Discussion FAQ Index" sticky thread located at the top of the "General Discussion" forum.

As this is your very first post on this forum, please note that the "blue button with white arrow" is not a "Reply to this post" button. The preferred reply method is to use the "Reply Text Box" at the bottom of the page and click the green "Post Reply" button.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Moderator Note:

Could you please select the 'View my Community’ in your Dashboard on the Forum and choose a nickname in the ‘My profile' tab, rather than your First name that has been automatically allocated by the system. Hopefully a Forum change is coming soon to prevent this automatic allocation but a manual change is required at the moment and there will be more than one member with your name.
