Bachmann Class DCC Fitted Loco number only works 2 digits

Maybe someone could help.

I took out my Bachmann Class 20 DCC Fitted - try to rename and allocate 4 numbers address but Dynamis will change but Loco will not move, so I tried 3 numbers address but that didn't work either so I allocated 2 number address, loco worked straight away in DCC Mode.

My question or advice I need is

Is that something down to older decoder or the way Bachmann have designed decoder?

Have you tried direct addressing CV 17&18
CV bit 5 on

I think you mean CV29 bit 5 on.

@Deem

Let us know the 4-digit address you want to use, and someone will tell you the values to put into CVs 17 & 18

Maybe the Dynamis doesn’t allow addresses > 99 ?

The decoder does not support CVs17/18 (long addressing) nor does it have bit 5 of CV 29 which switches short to long addressing. You are stuck with two digit addressing with this decoder.

Thanks 96RAF

Your explanation made things clear for me and I can understand the CV Leaflet better now.

Thanks Jupiter

I am going to sell this Loco which is in mint condition and either get Hornby Class 20 TTS or Bachmann Class 20 with sound.

Regards
