Recommended decoder for Queens platinum jubilee DCC ready train

first timer for converting a DCC ready train to DCC enabled - the queens jubilee steam train. Appreciate some recommendations on which 21 pin chip to use and even how to do it…

Hornby doesn’t have a 21-pin decoder for sale yet, so it will have to be some other make such as Zimo which has a good rep.

Your loco came with a maintenance sheet that tells you where the decoder fits and how to access it. There will be a blanking plate fitted to the socket which has to be removed in order to fit the decoder. Take note of the pin arrangement as it is a 22-hole header with one hole blocked as an index to ensure correct orientation for fitting.
