Out Of Puff1707822593
Hi can anyone advise a simple switch, so that I can switch the main DCC power output (Hornby Select) between the main track and a programming track? Thanks a lot
P-Henny
Any standard electrical toggle switch that is described as DPDT.DPDT stands for Double Pole Double Throw. In more simple English, this is a switch that contains two levers (Double Pole) that switch between a changeover contact (Double Throw). The switch will have 6 tags on it for wiring. The two centre tags are wired to the Select Track output. The two outer tags on one side of the centre, will wire to the layout track. Whilst the two other outer tags (on the other side of centre) wire to the programming track.
Flashbang
Hornby show this as using their R046 yellow lever and have a wiring diagram in the Select user manual. See manual page 25. Manual link is here ... https://support.hornby.com/hc/en-gb/article_attachments/360015937319/1.5_dcc_select_manual.pdfOtherwise use a cheaper Double Pole Double Throw (DPDT) ideally centre Off toggle switch and wire like this drawing... https://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/DCC-Page-1.html#programmingtrackEdit...
