  1. I think Dodge meant will it be possible to bar members from posting at all. For example if deemed to be constantly breaching rules or causing distress and disruption. Willing to be proven wrong though.
  2. Thank you 96RAF, that was all it needed, a quick courtesy confirmation note to acknowledge the request had been passed on. Else such requests appear to fall into a 'black hole'. I'm used to seeing your mod notes in posts providing such confirmations, but on this occasion nothing. So no wonder I thought it had been ignored.
  3. @loftpidgeon Well you know what they say about leading a horse to water. Despite my efforts, the request to have AC correct his site text seems, after four days, to have fallen on death ears. Sorry ... but at least I tried.
  4. Open the 'Useful Links' pinned sticky thread (located at top of 'General Discussion' sub-forum & linked to below), then scroll down to the "DCC CV29 Calculator" link. This online calculator will assist with the adjustment needed for CV29 that others have indicated. https://uk.hornby.com/community/forum/useful-links?ccm_paging_p=1 BIT 0 in CV29 sets the decoder direction. This will make more sense after you have seen the calculator support text. As others have said, adjusting CV29 is the usual recommended solution for your universally experienced issue and is common to ALL decoders, not just Sapphire.

  6. There is absolutely no reason to read a CV if you can't. DCC Controllers [including RM] allow writing blind [this means writing a CV value WITHOUT reading it first]. In fact in RM, writing blind in many cases actually works more robustly as the integrated RM decoder database is not involved in a blind write and it is usually the decoder database that causes problems. CV12 is documented on Page 48 of the HM7000 manual. CV12 = 0 [zero for DCC control] CV12 = 2 [two for Bluetooth APP control] In order to write a CV value blind. To save reinventing the wheel and duplicating the instructions here go to the Railmaster FAQ Index pinned sticky thread linked to below and follow guidance in FAQ 3. I would also suggest that you follow FAQ 2 to actually add your HM7000 equipped loco to the Railmaster throttle list. RailMaster FAQ Index :: Hornby Hobbies So I suggest writing blind a value of 0 [zero] to CV12 using guidance in FAQ 3, then following guidance in FAQ 2 to add your loco to Railmaster. When you get to the stage where the loco is functioning normally in RM, then use the APP [not RM] to change CV12 back to Bluetooth control via the APP. If all is well, you should then be able to just use the APP to switch between Bluetooth APP and RM DCC control and back again. See Also.   8. @daveyplod Just to add to LT&SR_NSE's reply. Railmaster is now owned outright by the original software developer [hrMS] who do not publish a telephone number or postal address. Their only contact is via email support@rail-master.com Writing to Hornby will get you nowhere as they are not directly responsible for RM anymore. In recent months, there have been statements on the forum from forum members who have been in contact with HRMS that updates are due. One minor (bug fixes) and one major (new features). However, the indications were that these would be seen in December which is now long gone. Will these updates ever materialise ... nobody knows for sure. P.S. The visual aid that Ducky mentions is one of the aids I was referring to in my earlier reply, but could not remember the details of. If you are partially sighted, I would assume that you would already be aware of that Windows feature.
  9. The HM7000 do work with RM as others on this forum have posted. So you have something that is affecting you that needs resolving. Maybe you need to do something you haven't done. For example how have you configured the DCC Address you want to use in Railmaster. If you have done that from within the Bluetooth APP, that is a known issue and currently (until fixed in the APP) you have to configure the DCC address you want to use on the programming track using the RM address writing utility. You also have to set CV12 for DCC operation ... have you done that? Also read the HM7000 manual and 'Text based Tutorials' for additional guidance. HM DCC Guides :: Hornby Hobbies
  10. The only font in RM that is adjustable is the font used on the custom 'text labels' on the track plan. If you are referring to the main application screen text, then that is fixed and not configurable as a within RM setting. Text label font adjustment is on Page 95 of the RM Manual. This is the only page in the manual where the word "font" can be found in an Acrobat Reader electronic search. You could try the Windows utility to assist those with sight difficulties. Can't remember where in Windows Settings this utility is found, but it does exist in Windows OS and usually works with any application running on Windows OS to increase the size of the application displayed on screen. However, I doubt it would be very convenient to use as in one of its settings most of the RM screen would expand beyond the edge of the physical monitor and require a lot of scrolling about.
  11. Are you resetting the value of CV12 to enable DCC control when programming the DCC Address using the Elite. If CV12 is still in Bluetooth mode, then the decoder will ignore the Elite DCC operating commands. See the HM7000 manual for the relevant CV12 values. Also, what profile version is installed in the HM7000. I seem to recall previous posts and threads that the original V1 profiles had issues switching to DCC control. But using the DCC Controller to change the CV12 value, provided a 'workaround'.
  12. That's because out of the box, the HM7000 is factory configured as a standard DCC Decoder. Therefore the configuration of it using a DCC Controller such as an Elite is already documented in the relevant DCC Controller manuals. The HM documentation focuses on operating the HM7000 Decoder using the Bluetooth APP. It is therefore not deemed necessary to 'reinvent the wheel' and document in duplication all the different DCC Controller manuals as well.
  13. No incorrect.... The profile in the HM7000 decoder is functional to controlling motor movement as well as the sound. Without any profile, the decoder will not function properly. This is why a generic profile (steam loco) is included in every brand new HM7000 decoder. Part of setting up the HM7000 decoder for the first time includes downloading and installing a more appropriate profile to replace the default one to get more appropriate sounds and fine tune the motor control characteristics for the class of loco the decoder is being fitted to. No ... absolutely not. Whether this will change at some time in the future, who can say. But it is not currently possible. The sounds are part of the decoder. A sound fitted loco will have a sound decoder installed. So changing the fitted sound decoder for a different sound decoder will change the sounds as well. P.S. It is really easy to search this forum using "Google Advanced Search" follow link below. In the 'site domain' box insert "hornby.com" and Google will only give results from searching the hornby.com website including the forum. https://www.google.co.uk/advanced_search?hl=en I find all the lost posts I search for using this method, that in essence replaces the Hornby provided forum search box.
  14. Read the 'Text Based Tutorials' on the linked page below. They provide 'step by step' guidance information that is supplementary to the manual. https://uk.hornby.com/hm7000/hm-dcc-guides Although the APP should be able to be used to set the DCC Address for DCC Control. It has been found that doing it that way can not be relied upon. Current guidance is to set the DCC Address in the traditional manner using the DCC Controller on the programming track. If necessary setting CV12 first to invoke DCC operation (the factory default) if using the APP to set DCC Control doesn't work. Work through the Text Based Tutorial Troubleshooting guide that describes what to do in more detail to configure and use the HM7000 Decoder via the Bluetooth APP. For a sound decoder, the HM7000 is very cheap, not very expensive. For example, have you researched the price of a Loksound?
  15. The amount of current a loco with lights on and sound idling but stationary will be minimal compared to a loco motor hauling a heavy load. So 7 running locos with several more idle but stationary should be within the capability of a 4 Amp supply, providing the running locos themselves are not really old non 'DCC Ready' hard wired conversions that tend to draw more current than modern locos.
  16. After 3 months trying, I eventually gave up trying to get Gov.UK access. I don't have a Valid Passport and couldn't pass ANY of the alternative security checks that they take in absence of a Passport security check.

I believe you have read far too much (negatively) into the recent forum posted comments. Basically, some of your recent videos featured model brands that are considered on the forum as being 'International' brands and it was suggested that placing those videos in the 'International Brands' sub-forum would bring your videos to an audience that would appreciate them all the more. Your belief that you are being asked not to post your videos for non Hornby brands is not correct, you are free to post videos on any brands, whether Hornby ones or not. In conclusion. You have absolutely nothing to apologise for. If anything, the forum should apologise to you for causing you unnecessary distress. You are a total Gentleman and polite to the extreme in your posts, something that others could learn from. Paul H.

  20. To be fair to my original 'tongue in cheek' (bars) comment. I find that even when an organisation or company or utility push hard to market with an IOS & Android APP. These are usually always run in parallel with a Windows PC Desktop website version as well. The 'NHS APP' for example gives people the choice. Everything the NHS APP can do on my Android, I can do via my Desktop PC. I choose to use the Desktop version because I can automate the login. On the Android APP it insists that I mandatory type in my login details for every single access. This drives me up the wall. As an aside, for those readers who have set up the NHS APP, do you agree that the security hoops you have to jump through just to get an account to log into is totally 'over the top' and unecessary. This is a rhetorical question by the way. For those who have never set up the NHS APP, one of the extreme things they asked me to do was ... they sent me an access code that I had to write on a piece of paper. I then had to video myself holding up the paper with the code whilst speaking the code verbally. The video has to capture your face with the written code visible in the frame along with the spoken audio. The video is then uploaded to be checked by an AI Bot for authorisation. That was a couple of years ago, whether the security check policy is different today ... I couldn't say.

  23. By not in the public domain. I meant that as the dongle was still being tested the full capability and limitations identified as a result of that testing was not published. Apologies if it is fully published, but I have not seen it. But Fishman (and you) have concurred in replies after mine that my own assumptions regarding Address limitations are most likely correct. EDIT: And 96RAF has now confirmed the same in writing in the other Cavalex thread.
