I have purchased 5 of these sound decoders 3 of them haven’t worked .not good. Can anyone share any light on why these issues occur .? the sound when they work is very good , I’m afraid I will have too look into saving a bit and going to loksound,I would rather use hornby but haven’t got the time to keep taking loco of the track ,doing updates etc

Hi I’ve recently purchased a class 33 and really am enjoying the Hornby Hm7000 sound decoders I have one spare , I know there isn’t a 33 sound profile any ideas what would suit from the available list? Thanks in advance Chris

Hi I’ve got a class 108 2 car DMU( Bachmann sorry!) The dummy car has a Hornby sapphire chip in it my Sprog recognises it , the power car has a Econami Soundtraxx decoder in it, I’ve tried linking them with the same running number etc still not getting the correct lighting, both show white at either end and the destination blinds are only showing one way … is it maybe that they don’t recognise each others decoders? Spent best part of 12 hours today, I would rather be doing this than anything else today but it got a bit trying in the end ! Any help would be appreciated Chris

Last weekend I was setting up my loco (class 56 sound profile) and I don’t know how I done it but on the default 3 setting loco number I managed to set the loco to pull away with the horn sounding and the brake squeal when it stopped . I since changed the running number and now it’s not doing it ,I know it was an accident getting it to do that but I really was impressed that it did - any ideas how to get it to work like that a long shot I know,! ( I was running DCC with prodigy express) thanks in advance

@Chrissaf HI. You posted a reply to someone a while back and you mentioned you could help with where the insulating joiners and power connections go. Wonder if you could help me .. ? Peco electro frogs being used, will have power feed from the 4 end sidings as such Ypres bottom set of points I’ve crossed out is not going ahead now . DCC LAYOUT any help would be a massive help thank you Chris

Hi I’m just starting to build an 8 ft x 1 1/2 foot shelf layout 90% of my stock are digitally chipped and sound decoded. I have 2 old Hornby steam engines and a DMU (all analogue) I would like to run still with an analogue controller When I fit the above part (clips to the points) could I run one of these at a time so long as nothing else was on the track apart from rolling stock?
