Vintage Modeller
Interior all painted using tamiya acrylics with an oil wash and dry brushing to highlight the detail. I've also added little seat beats (made out of masking tape) but when dry fitting I've realised all this work will soon be hidden forever ;-) Hehe!! Vintage Modeller
Main build, gap and seam checks sorted then re-scribed panel lines where needed. This is a superb kit. The parts fit seamlessly. Painting next.
Vintage Modeller
Decided on a well worn patchwork main paint scheme inspired by this photo. Not an accurate representation of the kit scheme but it should be fun ride smiley
Vintage Modeller
Hi VMEnjoying your build. Good luck with the paint scheme. I love the worn tired used look in models over a factory finish kit every time.RodPS love your choice of profile picture. The Beaufighter is close to my own heart. Thanks Rod. Me too - makes it a little more interesting (and fun) grinning Cheers re the Beau - Love that little Airfix kit.

Vintage Modeller
Base scheme painted. Will fit and paint the windows next then decals and the fun bit - Weathering ;-)
Vintage Modeller
Have you assembled the kit? Have you fitted the fuselage windows or do they go in later?RodWell, to be honest Rod the windows should have gone in before painting! I didn't realise the frames were molded with them so I'll be retrofitting them then painting those sections again face_with_rolling_eyes
Vintage Modeller
Nearly there. I've added a few more contrasting panels and applied most of the decals now. Next I'm going to apply a satin varnish to seal them in and begin the weathering using oils.I love this kit!!!

Vintage Modeller
Airfix 1/72 RAF Dakota Mk.III completed! Not an accurate representation of the kit scheme as I wanted to play around with contrasting paneling and weathering using oils and pigments. The kit is one of the best Airfix kits I've build - The fit is superb! Highly recommended.

Vintage Modeller
Very nice. The well worn look and suggestions of repair work done on the plane certainly shows how hardwork the aircraft type did. Very representative.Nice work.Rod Thanks Rod thumbsup
