TT120 Stay Alive For Which Loco's

Just a thought regarding smaller locos such as 0-6-0’s

thinking back I’m sure I saw the possibility to run an extension from a decoder to a slave socket stored in an attached wagon

yes it has disadvantages such as wires on show and the attached wagon has to been continuously connected to the loco

But is this an option for Stay a Live and or sound for smaller Locos ?

Using a wagon as a permanent 'tender' for a small locos speaker and stay alive is a possibility, the wires should be long enough. I'd replace the couplings with something permanent just to be on the safe side. The wires are very delicate.

EDIT: I forgot they're using 6 pin in the 08 shunter and not a N18.

Here are the respective decoder boards for comparison Fishy.

Do you think you could hook up a 6-pin header to the 8-pin sound board to get a sound decoder for use in the small locos.

This is the 8-pin version of the 6-pin (same PCB)

And the 8-pin TXS sound version - same board as Next 18S

Always seems to be the way. The models that need a stay alive aren't capable of having one fitted. These days it's something that really should be sorted at the design stage. Given the marvels you see in N and Z, I don't see why it's not possible in TT.
