  1. @Rallymatt I agree that including the area needed for a layout is great, the only issue is the units. What is 3.25mx1.25m in real money???🤔🤣
  2. If you're sticking with DC, a good quality controller will improve the running of the locos no end and get rid of that annoying motor buzz. I'd go for a Gaugemaster, they have a lifetime guarantee even if bought second hand as long as any secuurity tabs are present. I'd go for a DS unit just in case you do decide to expand, you can get them for about a 100 quid if you search ebay.
  3. Yep, that's the one. I've got the track and a 6x4. I just need to build it.
  4. That looks to be the same layout I have used as 'inspiration' and have bought the trackwork for, except it's missing 2 sidings, one in the bottom centre area and 1 on the very bottom of the picture.
  5. I don't know what the forum rules are, but I for one would certainly want to know about bad/poor retailer experiences so we can avoid having to deal with them. Likewise it would be great for people with positve experiences to give a mention to the good retailers so we can support them.
  6. Even with HSTs, personally I would rather pay extra and have all of my locos powered. ie Two power cars and NO dummy car.
  7. That looks better, certainly easier to use and you have storage for 9 locos and/or rolling stock while still having space to try out those scenic skills.
  8. Nice looking layout, just one question: There is a long siding coming out of the engine shed left hand portal, how do you actually get long trains onto it?
  9. By the look of the picture, I'm off to call Ghostbusters👻 Oh no, I've got the silly tune in my head now🤣
  10. Anne Hathaway's cottage in 1/125 by Little Dart from an ebay seller, it weighs about a kilo, so must be solid polystone or similar.
  11. If the screwdriver tips are not hardened, won't the drivers fail before the screws? Plus how many screws are that tight in models for you to worry about it?
  12. There used to be a fantastic Fish and Chip shop in Matlock about 45 years ago, it was a mid terrace house and you went up the garden path to it, Run by an old lady called Winnie. No signs, the only way you knew it was there was by local knowledge.
  13. Never mind about the 9f (of which I need all 3) or the Duchesses (of which I also need all 3), what about the 700 quids worth of Stanier coaches that are imminent or the 200 quid I've just spent on buildings, coach etc. I need to find a cheap hobby like strippers and coke.🤔🤣
  14. I bought these last year eBay item number:294724878971 you can actually get them for £3.99 if you look around. I don't think they are magnetic, but all you need to do is put a magnet on the shaft to make it so.
  15. A bumper crop of goodies has arrived today. Got the 10.4mm pin gauge. Seven buildings and the 50' full brake. I love the buildings, they're fantastic for the size, the church especially with the four crosses on the roof, just how delicate are those, I daren't even put it back in the bag for fear of breaking them. I also love the addition of corridor ends in the full brake. It baffles me how people can knock TT:120 with the quality of things like these.
  16. We certainly do take what we can get. I've just won on Ebay a painted stone model of Anne Hathaway's Cottage in 1/125 from Little Dart for the princely sum of £8.68 delivery included. It's amazing what you can find with a little time to spend. I hope it's as good in person as it is in the listing.
  17. I've got a Revell U99 submarine which is 1/125 waiting to become a static museum piece. I bought it for the Flames of War WWII game but that is 1/100 so it would suit TT:120 better.
  18. If the individual items are less than 50 quid each to qualify for free postage, why pre-order? Just wait till they are in stock and then order them together to get free postage. The only things I have on pre-order now are the three Duchesses due to the original membership deal. Every thing else can wait till it's in stock.
  19. I concur with TT, looking at the pic your loco will get to the first pier and stall due to its driving wheels been off of the track.
  20. I got the same reply from Accurascale when asking for the Deltic and Siphon G wagons.
  21. I've emailed them asking for Deltics with HM7000 compatabity and Siphon G wagons.
  22. Er, no, it's called threadlocker, you put it on the screw thread to help adhesion when the plastic thread hole is worn/damaged etc. Magnetic screwdrivers can be useful to hold a screw, or put a magnet on the shaft of a screwdriver for the same effect.
  23. Is it just me who would have been happy to pay £4.99 for a high quality, heavy paper stock catalogue and left the magazine on the shelf🤔.
  24. I use Loctite 222 purple threadlocker, it seems to do the job. Not cheap though.
