    Fencing

Look at Scalemodelscenery.co.uk ...they do the spiked station fencing in laser cut form.
  2. To be honest I hope they release wagons to compliment the Class 50 and the Class 37. Ballast wagons would provide a different angle, and maybe longer wheel base vans. Something entirely different to compliment Hornby's range, something for the diesel modellers would be good.
  3. Yes, I wondered if the figures were Accurascale personnel 😊 Agree, I have a few of their wagons and they are not only very good but also good value in the three item sets. Accurascale was the manufacturer I was hoping would "get on board" with TT:120 . I'm wondering if it's worth ordering the figures just to make the point that the TT:120 community are eager for them to proceed? I wonder if Peachy and Mac have made contact with Richard at Accurascale yet?
  4. AnyRail states that it is 640mm
  5. Just received an email from Accurascale. They are releasing TT figures. Just hope they soon move on to rolling stock as well 😊
  6. Image reposted at Mod's request...view of whole layout Mod Edit: Thanks @Renoir . Correct here and in earlier post.
  7. Sure...I have used Hornby set-track and the R3 and R4 curves on "the main" and an R6 in one of the sidings. The "philosophy" of the layout was to build on the trainsets, the "next stage" so to speak, and partly to encourage others to have a go at developing a layout. Go on...you can do it...make up a board and lay some track 😊. Keep it simple and achievable...that's the key.
  8. The Class 50 is next on my list...I hope that another manufacturer decides to launch some rolling stock...Seacows or Sealions would be good to make up ballast trains 😊
  9. Thanks 😊 looks much better ! Just wish I could figure out how to solve the rotation problem when posting. On another topic, my next job is to check the platform clearances for 75' coaching stock. I didn't expect to be tempted by an HST but the idea of running one is too tempting...it may be I need to apply the scalpel to parts of the platform edges πŸ˜…
  10. MO, I've seen your post about your proposed layout. May I encourage you....you will achieve what you want to do...just crack on with it 😊 I hadn't done any scenery before but encouragement on this forum convinced me to try, and it was a lot easier than I had imagined.
  11. Thanks. 😊 Yes, I feel embarrassed by the upside down photos as I cannot find how to right them 🫣 The level crossing is a 3D print from SR-3D Designs, and the road bridge is a modification of a InTheGreenwoodLaser kit. The spiked fencing is a laser cut product from Scale Model Scenery.
  12. Been a while so time for an update on Hatley St George. Very slow progress but I have been concentrating on detailing the layout particularly the platform and yard areas. I have learned over the intervening months that it is good to β€œwalk away” from the project on occasions, sometime for several weeks. Inspiration and motivation always seem to return. I exhibited the layout at the Lymington Model Railway Exhibition this Easter weekend and the experience has confirmed to me that building a TT layout was the right decision, and especially a small and portable one. A lot of positive feedback and a number of fruitful conversations with visitors gave me a host of ideas on how to develop the layout and re-kindled my enthusiasm. May I encourage those forum members struggling to get going on a first layout. My layout is small, and this is my first attempt at serious scenery, but I have made progress, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing my trains running round. My advice is to just plough on and do something...seems to have worked for me πŸ™‚ [MODS, sorry about the upsidedown images, not sure how to rotate them] Mod edit: WIP
  13. I took the layout out today for its first real public outing at the Poole & District MRS exhibition. Despite being incomplete I'm pleased to report that it was well received with a lot of interest in TT:120. Quite a few people said that they'd read about TT:120 but had never seen it "in the flesh". A lot of compliments about the Hornby product; I must have waxed lyrical as one chap asked if I worked for Hornby ο»Ώsweat_smileο»Ώ. Anyway, my thanks to members of the Forum who have offered encouragement. This is the first time I have ever done any serious scenery work, and this is the first time I have taken a layout to an exhibition. I think TT:120 continues to interest and the arrival of the diesel locomotives next year should provide additional impetus to take up the scale.
  14. I think the servo motors may be the quietest. I have used MP1 motors on Hatley St George and am pleased with these and they are definitely quieter than the Cobalts. A colleague in the club demonstrated a servo setup recently and I must say that I may explore this route in future. Very cost effective but they do require additional set up, but I was surprised that it didn't seem as complex as I had imagined.
  15. Likewise the OO PECO Code 75 insulated joiners work well and just need trimming down.
