  1. Hi I am going to pencil a 6th radius curve onto my layout with a nail, a pen and a piece of string. I looked on my 6th track setta from west hill wagon works and it says 482mm but then I came across the one on the Hornby page and it says 640mm. It would appear that it's only the 6th one that differs? So which is it to be? best, Steve
  2. Hi I've looked under spec etc but cannot find what height these new semaphore signals are. Why don't Hornby give more info on their products? lol Thanks, Steve
  3. Hi Guys here is a new Youtube link. Hopefully I've made the fitting of the Staco's a bit clearer. Thanks How to fit a Zimo sound decoder and Stay-Alive into a Hornby TT120 08 Shunter. Without Modification! - YouTube
  4. Thanks Guys. Yes, indeed sound is fitted and I went for the sound download from Digitrains end of the day (Protodrive) as the sound from Youchoos and Coastaldcc aren't that good in my opinion they sound tinny. The service from Youchoos was first rate they even swapped the original decoder as it appeared to be faulty and their communication pipeline is second to none. It was John from Youchoos who told me that Zimo insists on an antistatic wristband to be worn when handling their decoders. The 3 staco's fit at the back of the chassis and the charge plate goes over the worm drive at the front. The staco's fit vertically. If you enlarge the photos that Digitrains sent me you can make it out even though the photo shows 2 staco’s. So I would think 2 would easily fit! by the way I take it that this new forum doesn't have a spellchecker? Cheers!
  5. Hello I've just found out you can fit a stay-alive into the TT120 08 Shunter without any modification! How to fit a Stay-Alive into a Hornby TT120 08 Shunter. Without Modification! - YouTube Cheers guys. Steve
  6. Apparently, the decoder is dead so they are going to send me a new one out Thanks!
  7. Thanks guys I've been advised to put a slight kink in the 6 pins from the company I've had the stuff from which I've done and it's a better fit but the loco address I'm reading from the decoder is still changing with every press of the read button and that's after another reset. So he said if that doesn't work they'll have it back for a test. So it looks as if it will be going back tomoz lol Thanks very much for your help, Steve ps I'll keep you posted!
  8. Thanks Nick I'm attempting to fit a Zimo MS490N 6 Pin Mini Sound Decoder into my Hornby 08 shunter along with the SP12X8X8 Mini Box Speaker. Which I have done OK. I'm using the good ole Roco Z21 as my command station. I've used the Z21 app (on my ipad) before in conjunction with iTrain with Willie Whitelaw and the Mallard as per my recent video. But this time I'm having problems with setting the Loco address. I want address 4 and it doesn't appear to be sticking. I've just done another reset and when I than click on the read address button it gives me random addresses everytime I click on it. Anyway I'm now gonna get back to the company who sold it me and see if they can throw any light on it. Cheers!
  9. hello is the CV1 Short Address where you enter your loco address? For instance if my loco address is 4 do I enter 4 in the value section. If not how do I assign the loco number to the decoder? best steve

  11. Thanks Paul yes the N scale Dapol will be fine but they are a bit pricey. Do you mean the ones with the big black box that fits underneath the baseboard? cheers pal
