Allan-350550
Has anyone experienced the elink box getting very warm during use. I hesitate to say hot. if I replace the unit are there any implications with the licence. I bought the unit from eBay some years ago and had to buy a new licence. Needless to say that I was not too happy at the time and don’t want a repeat.
westernwill
My Elink gets warm during a long session, but not too hot to touch. The Licence you bought was for Railmaster and nothing to do with the Elink, so if you do get a new Elink you do not need another licence.Hope this helps. 96RAF
ELink can get hot and it may be a hi-wattage resistor R86 doing it’s job or it may be the heat sinks on the output transistors Q1-Q4 are loose or the heat transfer paste has gone off.ref here If taking the cover off you will need a triangular bit for the security screws, 2 long ones and 2 short ones so take note of their positions.
