William-371849 Posted November 28, 2023 Share Posted November 28, 2023 I have just picked up the bits i need to do a DCC setup with a class 91 and DVT, I have got a decoder for the loco end do i need to fit one into the dvt so it doesn't get damaged or can i get away with it ? Barry-350851 Posted December 19, 2023 Share Posted December 19, 2023 If it is a new Mk4 DVT with lights, I'm not sure what will happen, both sets of lights (head and tail + cab) might come on at the same time. If you don't get a decoder at some point then the lights on the DVT will burn out sooner than if they have a decoder, but that could be well down the line.I can't see anything on the Hornby website page but the Hornby Magazine review suggests a 21-pin socket.I'd aim to put a decoder in at some point.
