Tour de Airfix
Nice, interesting having the diagrams on the back of the box. This is similar to the starter kits. For some reason I collect my instructions and often refer back to the colour plates, so I’d miss that with this kit. This was my last Airfix Me109. I think, like Spitfires, it’s always fun from time to time to build another 109 😊
Ratch
Is that the A01008 kit?
Tour de Airfix
This one is a bit of a curve ball really as it’s from the 1:48 scale dogfight double gift set A50160
Ratch
As it is not the kit under review, I have split it into its own topic. Others may be confused by something being shown that is not what the topic is about.
Tour de Airfix
It really surprises me as to how many 1/48 scale Bf109 kits Airfix has released. I see Scalemates have 17 listed since 1978 and the more recent tooling dates from 2010, so not old at all. More recently I’ve been focusing my energies on 1:72 scale kits, mainly because of space, but really enjoyed returning to this 1/48 scale kit as part of a local club group build I seem to recall having the Airfix Club’s 2012 members’ edition of the Bf109, but I’ve no idea what happened to it. I’ll be elated when I discover it hidden in a old box somewhere someday 😂
