LTSR_NSE Posted Monday at 22:58 Share Posted Monday at 22:58 (edited) The metal electrical pick-ups (Brillo pads) are called āBraidsā (C8075). Almost any Scalextric car produced after 2007 has a socket for either a standard digital chip (C8515) or the narrower F1 type chip (C8516). Scalextric also make/made? a DIY alternative chip for fitting to older cars (C7005) or the narrower F1 type chip (C7006). NumberSix
Whilst C8075 is indeed the part number for braids (aka Brillo Pads) they will not help you as your car requires "Quick fit" braids sold in packs: C8329. These are essentially the standard braids, like C8075, on a plastic disc that slides into the cars slot. Easy to source online or, if your lucky, a standard part stocked by model shops that are Scalextric dealers. If you have the plastic disc then you can replace the braids and reuse the disc. A replacement car will be a secondhand proposition so your auction site of choice. If you want "like for like" then you not only need a Buggati Veyron in white, it also has to be digital (DPR chip fitted). If a digitally chipped car cannot be found you can still buy an analogue one but you will also require a C8515 DPR digital chip as mentioned by LTSR_NSE (again readily available but pushing the cost up). Hope that helps.
