The son of Triangman
Here's my favourite 0-4-0's, they would make lovely club models. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/thetriangman/Dscf0001-6.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/thetriangman/greennellie.jpg What are you favourite 0-4-0's? Ozexpatriate
TSoT, I'm shocked that you would list Nellie/Polly/Connie as your favourite. Shocked, I tell you. Your illustration appears to be the 1970 0-4-0T Private Owner's Industrial Locomotive: http://www.hornbyguide.com/item_details.asp?itemid=447 My preference would be a new accurate model of an industrial locomotive. Something that also ran in a big four livery would be best. Something like a Powesland & Mason Peckett 0-4-0ST for example. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fa/GWR_%28Powlesland_%26_Mason%29_0-4-0ST_No._1152_at_Danygraig.jpg
The son of Triangman
Some had to do it eventually, so I stuck my neck out and suggested the old R.355 series Nellie models. With a cheap new chassis it would give us a nice new Hornby Club loco. A proper industrial alas would push prices up of membership to a high leve but it's a nice thought. The son of Triangman
We do need an nice super detail steam industrial in the main range that's for sure, it's a nice idea Ozepat. As for the former Hellie moulding I will run and duck for cover as I can here the anti-Nellie lobby in the distance approaching...lol

Postman Prat
You normally have a lot to say about poor Nellie. Not much of it is nice! walkingthedog said: Don't drag me into this thread.
walkingthedog
Ideal as a club loco. Perfect sort of thing to give away.

This time, Ford, No. 7. http://www.semaphoresandsteam.com/p150609566/h420afc44#h420b0504
Ozexpatriate
Yes, I know it is an 0-6-0ST, not an 0-4-0ST.
LCDR
I'm with SoT for a club loco. I just bought a spare 'No 27' body for £2 , slight damage to one set of steps under the cab, and a load of lead sheet glued inside, Both of which are fixable. Now need a chassis and motor, spares box here I come! The 'Nellie' was a nicely proportioned toy, and a chassis with cylinders would set it off a treat. Do the moulds still exist I wonder? The Dock Shunter would also make a nice revived toy too. As to proper industrial locos, I DO NOT want these as club locomotives as that pre-supposes a simplifies model with some liberties taken with proportions to fit a standard chassis. Now we are promised a Sentinel / RR 4wD let us hold out for a proper Industrial steam design, Peckett, Hawthorn Leslie or Manning Wardle.
