In answer to your question seagull it makes no difference at all to how the loco runs.

 

If you have a straight end to end layout the flanged wheels will probably be OK.

 

If you have curves on you layout less than 4th radius the unflanged wheels

 

are your best bet.

 

I suggest you try the flanged versions, if the loco derails or has problems negotiating curves swap the for the other set.

Morning Guys......may have misled you here....as WTD says, I accept that the flat wheels as fitted will not affect how well the loco runs.....my layout has two ovals, so was more about the ability of the "cartazzi" bogie to negotiate the curves....you

 

all seem to agree that the best option is to leave the flat wheels in place, which is obviously easier for me.........thanks for the replies guys
